Summary:  Coordinate care and referrals to local health care providers and provide initial care, first aid and triage of medical care for the crew as needed during the shipyard/annual maintenance period.  (Note this scope of responsibilities only applies during periods Crew Clinic is formally closed)

The health and well-being of our crew is something we take seriously. The Crew Physician and Crew Clinic staff are available for our crew if they are ill as well as for many routine check-ups. 

The Nurse Provider volunteer position, part of the Hospital, will be located on the Africa Mercy and Global Mercy, the world's largest non-governmental hospital ships. The preferred minimum commitment for this role is two months. We recommend all interested applicants to submit an application at least six months in advance of your target service date. Commitments longer than twelve months require successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding Program

Qualifications required:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current license
  • Experience in Family Medicine
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Fluent in English
