 **Compensation Range for This Position Is $15-15.14hr. based on experience. on-site part-time position.

Provide clerical assistance and data entry tasks in support of Donor Services Department including Researching and processing mail donations; adding new Donors; updating Donor accounts and information; maintaining and ensuring data integrity.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Sort mail from Post Office to prepare for processing.
Open & code mail appropriately per standards
Maintain and update Donor records per standards.
Process Credit Card and e-Check (ACH) donations
Process Pledge requests accurately 
Answer telephone calls and assist Donors.
Process donations/data entry through Mercy Ships provided tools. 
Process merging Donor records, including corresponding with donor (via email or phone)

  • Process donations/data entry through Mercy Ships provided tools.  
  • Process merging Donor records, including corresponding with donor (via email or phone) as necessary to ensure records are maintained accurately.
  • Train other personnel to perform tasks as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist the goals of the organization.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements)

  • Highly motivated, well organized and detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to define priorities and handle confidential information while ensuring the privacy of Donors and Staff.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible and open to changes in processes.
  • Desire to work effectively with a dynamic team serving Donors and Mercy Ships staff.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and non-profit, fundraising software
  • Proficient typing and 10-key calculator skills
  • Supportive of Mercy Ships Mission and Vision statements and committed to Mercy Ships Core Values
  • Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrate accountability.

Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • High School diploma required; some college preferred.
  • Prior experience in a financial area, such as accounting and/or bookkeeping, preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a development/fundraising environment would be helpful.
