**Compensation Range for This Position Is $60,000-$64,000

This role is a 6-month fixed term contract

 

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day user guidance, data quality, reporting, and user enablement of Mercy Ships’ Salesforce CRM platform. This role ensures Salesforce is easy to use, reliable, and supports effective volunteer recruitment and engagement activities. The Administrator acts as the primary point of contact for Salesforce support, helping teams work efficiently with accurate data and clear reporting. Working closely with internal stakeholders and guided by the IT Systems Manager (Salesforce Lead), this role focuses on maintaining data integrity, supporting users, and enabling teams to confidently use Salesforce in their daily work.

 

How You’ll Contribute

 

    CRM Support & User Enablement

  • Serve as the primary business point of contact for P&C user support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Global Volunteer Recruitment.
  • Provide guidance, support, and practical solutions to colleagues on Salesforce usage and best practices.
  • Clearly communicate system updates and changes in a user-friendly way.
  • Work closely with teams to understand needs and support improved adoption and effective use of Salesforce.

    Data Integrity & Governance

  • Maintain high standards of data quality through validation rules, deduplication processes, and regular audits.
  • Develop and promote best practices for data entry, field usage, and lifecycle management.
  • Support compliance with organizational data governance, privacy, and security standards.
  • Monitor data quality trends and proactively address inconsistencies or gaps.

     

    Reporting & Operational Support

  • Build and maintain standard reports and dashboards to support operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Support teams in understanding Salesforce data structures and how to effectively use reports.
  • Work with data and analytics colleagues to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and meaningful.
  • Respond to reporting needs that support day-to-day operations and performance tracking.

     

    Light Administrative Support (Aligned to User Needs)

  • Advise simple, practical Salesforce updates that improve user workflows (e.g., leads, contacts, and opportunity tracking).
  • Support testing and documentation of changes that impact users, data quality, or reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining clear and accessible documentation for Salesforce processes and usage.

     

    Collaboration & Working Relationships

  • Work closely with Volunteer Recruitment, Experience, and other key teams to support their Salesforce needs.
  • Collaborate with the IT Systems Manager (Salesforce Lead) to align with broader system priorities and governance.
  • Contribute to a positive user experience by ensuring Salesforce remains accessible, reliable, and well understood.

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Marketing, Data Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) strongly preferred or in progress.
  • Experience supporting CRM users in a recruitment, nonprofit, or mission-driven environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration, automation tools, and security model.
