This is a full-time, on-site role in Lindale, Texas. The pay range is up to $18/HR based on experience.

This role is responsible for shipping, receiving and inventory control. The person in this position works with Procurement, Mailroom & Warehouse personnel and receives direction from the Warehouse Manager.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Liaise and communicate with Warehouse Manager & Warehouse Personnel, Planning Managers and Procurement Coordinators regarding supplies.
  • Receives and verifies accuracy of incoming shipments.
  • Sorts and places materials on racks or shelves according to predetermined organizational system such as size, type, or product code.Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Utilizes material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.
  • Provide efficient warehousing organization, re-packing and shipping services.
  • Maintain updated spreadsheet/computerized inventory data to facilitate efficient receiving, warehousing and shipping of medical/dental equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with mailroom tasks when needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, occasionally making recommendations to management on new products or services that might benefit the organization.
  • Assists in keeping the facility clean, tidy, professional and clear of unsafe obstructions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client/personnel/organizational files.
  • Frequently works with volunteers and helpers, including oversight & giving instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    The Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to read/ write and execute four basic math skills. An acute attention to detail, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Must possess a valid TX driver’s license. Forklift license preferred.
  • Must be proficient with computers including the ability to use company databases, Warehouse Inventory System Software, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, E-mail systems, and internet.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and provide documentation in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to lift supplies (up to 50 lbs.). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and climb. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

    Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a warehousing environment is preferred.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
