Summary:  Assist the Marine Operations Procurement Coordinator in providing timely delivery of required parts and materials to the Company ships, working closely with internal Company departments and external vendors and delivery services.

 Summary Description

Assist the Procurement Manager in providing timely delivery of required parts and materials to company ships,
working closely with internal company departments, external vendors and delivery services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

o Receive & process requisitions from company ships; research price and delivery time quotations with approved vendors; as directed, place supply orders with vendors.
o Track orders through delivery to the designated ship and advise the Procurement Manager of any delivery delays
o Coordinate receiving of ordered supplies to the designated company warehouse location for onward delivery to a ship
o Maintain records of purchasing documents as directed
o Investigate discrepancies in ordered materials; advise the Procurement Manager and/or Technical Superintendents accordingly.
o Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors by providing clear, accurate, and timely communications.
o Assist in the expanded use of the company supply management program by defining processes, developing training materials, and conducting training of company personnel.
o Support Marine Operations office supplies ordering
o Support procurement during various ship maintenance periods and onboard staff gaps by joining a ship for a specific period of time.
o Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements)

o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals and/or documents. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to use computer applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
o Ability to travel nationally and internationally.

Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrate accountability.


Education and Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.
o High school graduate, GED, or equivalent. Associates degree (AA) preferred.
o Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successful completion of a Mercy Ships entry level training program will be required within the first year.
