The Opportunity

**Compensation Range for This Position Is $50,000 - $55,000 USD

This Passionate And Enthusiastic Individual Will Steward And Serve A Caseload Of Approximately 600 Donors Using Our Donor Engagement Plan With Intentional Efforts Aimed At Building Relationships And Fulfilling The Donor’s Interests To Increase Their Engagement And Deepen Their Relationship With Mercy Ships. The DRO Must Appreciate And Enjoy Building Relationships Over The Phone, Email, Texting, And Other Channels As Technology Advances.

How You’ll Contribute

    • Cultivates donor relationships by providing scheduled touchpoints routinely for all donors on caseload, in addition to thanking them for their gifts in a way that bonds them to Mercy Ships.
    • Executes strategy through calls, texts, emails, and mailed pieces.
    • Learns about Mercy Ships programs and effectively communicates the mission to donors.
    • Must be able to listen attentively and discern the needs of donors in addition to their receptiveness to a personal relationship.
    • Must be very comfortable and willing to pray with donors as the need arises.
    • Record donor stewardship in Donor Perfect to accurately reflect all activities and touchpoints with donors in a timely manner.
    • Maintain a high level of awareness and expertise on US fundraising trends and best practices to retain donors.
    • Represent Mercy Ships by living out our core values through professional interactions with donors, volunteers, and staff.
    • Assist Marketing Mid-Level Manager in special project assignments as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Must be able to problem-solve and analyze a wide range of scenarios for optimal caseload management and donor relations.
    • Manages time and task completion effectively.
    • Handles tasks independently.
    • Strong project management skills and keen attention to detail.
    • Desire to work on a dynamic and collaborative team.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Bilingual preferred but not required.
    • Strong phone skills: warm tone, good speaking cadence, clear and articulate speech
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate positively and effectively with a wide range of demographic audiences.
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) systems is preferred but not required.
    • Must be able to remain calm and composed while extending grace when interacting with a difficult call.
    • A high level of confidentiality is required to protect our donors and their information.

Education & Experience

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years of demonstrated skills in fundraising, sales, marketing, or customer service.
    • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
