**Compensation Range for This Position Is $67,500-$70,000
The Financial Planning Analyst provides accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to support global operational and fundraising teams. This role is a key supporting finance partner to assigned caseload of business units to deliver timely information that informs planning, budgeting and performance monitoring for data driven decisions. Reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Stewardship
How You’ll Contribute
- Maintain close working relationships with caseload and act as their finance resource to help manage system access, interpret results, and answer questions
- Support the financial planning process for caseload by gathering data, monitoring submissions, providing analysis support, etc.
- Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget, forecast and prior period with clear commentary to support management decision-making
- Prepare and facilitate periodic financial performance and financial planning meetings with actionable insights for caseload.
- Assist in trend analysis and identifying business drivers behind financial performance
- Identify opportunities to improve and support the development and implementation of reporting tools, dashboards, financial planning processes, and other resources.
- Assist caseload in planning and monitoring project related activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and clarity across reports, supporting both quality assurance and cross-training for broader team development.
- Adhere to organization policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements in all reporting and analysis activities. · Other projects as assigned
The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying financial results and practices to national and international non-finance partners.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, corporate finance concepts, financial planning, and variance analysis.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness in financial reporting, planning and analysis.
- Collaborative team player who works effectively across departments and supports cross-functional initiatives.
- Highly organized and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or other related field required.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in financial planning, corporate finance, accounting or related roles required.
- Experience with the following tools required: Standard Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
- Experience with any of the following tools preferred: Microsoft SharePoint, Asana, Qlik, SalesForce, MIP Abila.
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
