Description:  

The Digital Designer works directly with MSUS Marketing leadership, team stakeholders to design and implement brand driven creative for digital communication strategies through email, social media, and website (mercyships.org) platforms.

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    • Manage Mercy Ships online identity on social networking platforms, design and execute strategies for donor facing email communications.
    • Design, update and manage content (written, images, video) as needed for implementation via digital communication platforms to reach and influence target audiences, and increase revenue.
    • Develop, expand and engage online community – implementing growth and engagement strategies, working to convert fans/followers into donors and volunteers.
    • Analyze and report effectiveness of social activities/campaigns and determine key learnings to maximize results.
    • Recommend marketing strategies for increasing donor numbers and average gifts, exponential public awareness and engagement, using cost effective tactics.
    • Assist Webmaster to maintain and update mercyships.org as appropriate with approved content.
    • Be able to work in a team environment, providing direction and assistance directly to the Marketing Team as well as handling web-related requests from various departments at the ISC and internationally.
    • Work Closely with outside agencies and provide strategic direction on behalf of Mercy Ships brand.
    • Research and stay informed on industry and media changes and opportunities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Requirements)

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, with working knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator a plus), Pardot, MailChimp, CRM (WordPress), HTML and Microsoft Office.
    • Social media multi-platform experience in a professional capacity, including channel monitoring and management
    • Strong organization and communication skills
    • Reliable copy editing and graphic design skills
    • Knowledge of production standards and requirements for various digital assets including social media channels, email, landing pages and web graphics.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, listening and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to think proactively and take initiative.
    • Able to work independently and in a team setting.

Education And Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

    • College Degree in computer related field preferred
    • Graphic Design experience preferred
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in related field
    • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year
