To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Clinical:
- Support the execution of hospital, programmatic, and organizational objectives in a systematic and structured way.
- Develop policies and procedures as needed and ensure documents are current, comprehensive, and effective.
- Provide clinical and operational support to both the AFM and GLM OR departments.
- Create a departmental plan to ensure hospital objectives are met.
- Utilize monitoring tools to track and report on the performance of the service line. Create tools if none exist.
- Regularly identify growth initiatives, advocate for best practices and integrate them into a continuous improvement plan.
- Provide input for the annual budget of the Hospital.
- Act as the Operating Room subject matter expect for:
- Clinical matters related to quality, safety, clinical performance and effectiveness (clinical governance)
- Project work (e.g., Electronic health record development, annual maintenance periods, etc.)
Staffing:
- Review applicants for OR position qualifications (except surgeons and anesthesia providers)
- Document needed positions in the staffing formation for each vessel.
- Select candidates to fill staffing plans.
- Assist with the development of recruitment strategy for OR positions
- Attend industry conferences as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
