$94,485 with Full Time Benefits. 100% Remote. Compensation is based upon the Candidate’s skills, experience & qualifications. Pay may vary due to the Candidate’s location.

Job Summary

The Director of Knowledge Management is accountable for creating and executing strategies, procedures, and tools for knowledge management (KM) used by all departments and sites within the organization. They are responsible for enhancing the culture of Mercy Ships and the KM framework on an ongoing basis by comprehending and catering to the knowledge requirements of various audiences and stakeholders and leading the delivery of corresponding solutions. 

How You’ll Contribute

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Align knowledge management (KM) strategy with broader organizational strategies.
  • Build, manage, and plan changes to Mercy Ships Knowledge Management (KM) framework, including the organization and taxonomy of content, and the relevant audiences for content.
  • Oversee a cross-functional KM working group responsible for managing content globally across the organization, within locational sites, and functional departments.
  • Promote organizational culture and excellence through how we communicate and share information.
  • Promote the use of and develop training for KM tools and processes.
  • Identify and evaluate premier (high-value, frequently used) content for audiences, and propose benefits, outcomes, and improvement opportunities for the organization.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology to align the KM framework with technology capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Data Privacy to ensure the KM framework is compliant with required standards and that risk is appropriately assessed.
  • Create and review KPIs relevant to KM.
  • Bring relevant industry insights to incorporate into the KM framework.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams.

Education And Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science or other related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in organizing knowledge systems and managing information within them.
