Summary Description
This role is responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of Security Operations for Mercy Ships at the ISC. This role is also responsible for providing the leadership required to ensure that the proper policies and procedures are in place to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, assets, confidential or proprietary information in a cost-effective manner. With a proven track record as a problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills, our ideal candidate motivates, trains, develops, and directs team members to deliver exceptional service in our ISC Security Department.
How You’ll Contribute
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Responsible:
- Security Risk Assessments: Annual in-depth assessment, followed up with a report detailing what is working and what needs to be improved. The changes or improvements may result from world events, changing neighborhoods, the use of the property, technology and other events or activities. Presents security improvement plans to executives. Oversee projects start to finish as Project Manager.
- Campus: The Security Manager will create an atmosphere and awareness of security by engaging in weekly community meetings, training videos or posters and other types of communication. Creates, trains and practices with a security response team with staff on property. Involve volunteers to support the security team during an emergency with evacuation, traffic flow, clearing buildings, helping vulnerable staff and other duties.
- Security Guards: The Security Manager will hire and onboard new security guards. Then manage and oversee ongoing training of security guards. Sets the security guard staffing schedule. Ensures that the team follows security and privacy laws and standards.
- Providing the leadership required to ensure that the proper policies and procedures are in place to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, assets, confidential or proprietary information in a cost-effective manner.
- Successfully perform timely Security Risk Assessments
- Perform annual in-depth assessment, followed up with a report detailing what is working and what needs to be improved.
- Demonstrate awareness to various global changes or improvements that may result from world events, changing neighborhoods and areas, the use of property, technology and other events or activities.
- Presents security improvement plans to executives.
- Creates, trains and practices with a security response team with staff on property. Involve volunteers to support the security team during an emergency with evacuation, traffic flow, clearing buildings, helping vulnerable staff and other duties.

Additional duties:
- Creates all security policies and procedures.
- Conducts regular security inspections.
- Investigates security threats and breaches.
- Writes comprehensive security reports.
- Leads company emergency response training.
- Recommends new security technology.
- ·Maintains utmost confidentiality and discretion.
- Advises Global Security Director regarding departmental budgetary needs.
- Promote a culture that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse team members.
- Interpret and communicate information, ideas, and instructions clearly, accurately, and persuasively both verbally and in writing.
Administrative:
- Organize meetings by assisting with invitations, agendas and note taking.
- Experienced with Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
- Assist Hospitality Team in preparing annual department budget. Monitor actual expenditures against budget and explain variances.
- Possess strong leadership skills, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic community. Successful execution of these administrative expectations will contribute to the overall success of the hospitality business on a global scale.
Operational:
- Monitor progress of programs and goals in department and communicate to team deliverables timeline completions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Understanding and Driving Department KPIs. Help in quantifying progress toward specific goals and objectives, enabling data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.

Education And Experience

Education And Experience (Continued)
- Bachelor’s degree or an accredited certificate, preferably in Security Management/Social Sciences, Law, Disaster Management, or related field is an advantage.
- Two years of professional experience working in security management, assessments, law enforcement, or military service
- Experience in operating in difficult circumstances and stressful conditions.
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships Onboarding program.
- Physical Security Professional or Certified Protection Professional is preferred.
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
Travel Requirements
