This is a full time REMOTE role and the compensation range for this position is $43,000 - $48,000 depending on experience.

As a Junior People Systems Administrator, you will maximize the reliability, utility, and value of People (HR) Systems through high-level customer support, sound system administration, and effective end-user training. Must be able to triage, prioritize, and resolve a high volume of system inquiries and requests while providing excellent customer experience. This role will assist with daily operations and support the People Systems Manager and Administrators.

 

How You’ll Contribute

People Systems Support:

  • Perform record creation and data entry for subsets of staff and crew.
  • Support People Systems Manager and Administrators with administrative tasks.
  • Promptly respond to all requests, courteously set appropriate expectations, and provide timely follow-up/resolutions.
  • Serve as tier 1 People Systems support through entire employment/volunteer lifecycle, adhering to respective service level agreements.
  • Consistently apply standard operating procedures to deliver on general support requests while continually searching for opportunities for improvement.
  • Research and diagnose issues, escalating to internal or external partners as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    People Systems Training:

  • Assist in delivering People Systems training to end users and key user groups in alignment with functional processes.
  • Understand People Systems process documentation, work instructions and reference guides.
  • Assist in authoring and publishing process documentation, work instructions and reference guides.
  • Provide input on training methods and content to improve delivery, relevance, and value.

     

    People Systems Security, Protection, and Governance:

  • Ensure protection of People Data by adhering to applicable internal and external data protection policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Escalate system/process vulnerabilities and ensure proper mitigation.
  • Follow and champion best practices in role/access controls, secure data transfers, and maintaining system security protocols.
  • Create awareness of the importance of data protection and security by supporting training campaigns where needed.

     

    The Ideal Candidate

  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is essential.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Organized and efficient, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for building strong relationships.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to recognize/discern data issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to HR systems and processes.
  • Supportive of Mercy Ships, mission, vision, and committed to its core values.
  • Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity, and demonstrate accountability.

     

    Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree in; Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, related field, or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience administering HR information system, Payroll system, ATS, ERP, and/or finance management systems, preferred. Dayforce experience, preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience delivering in-person training to end users.
  • Customer Service experience is preferred.
  • Experience within the Human Resources field is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in a global, cross-cultural environment, is desired.
  • Mercy Ships experience is preferred, but not required.
  • HR Certification is a plus (SHRM, HRCI, or Global HR).
  • Certification in Business Analysis or System Administration, a plus (CCBA, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL) preferred.
  • May be required to travel domestically or internationally (up to 10%).
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
