Summary Description

The Technical Writer is responsible for working with the various functional leads to edit policy, process, and procedural documentation, and other written content to align with our templates as part of the Knowledge Management project.  This person must have excellent written communication skills and can translate and organize information into documentation that the audience is able to easily digest and understand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Organize, write, edit, and format technical information to produce high-quality, easy-to-understand documents for specific audiences.
  • Create policy, process, and procedural documentation, and other written content that communicates complex information in a clear and concise manner and is aligned with our templates and glossary.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to create documentation that meets the needs of the intended audience.
  • Promote organizational culture and excellence through how we communicate and share information.
  • Actively participate in the cross-functional KMA working group responsible for managing content globally across the organization, within locational sites, and functional departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communicator with an eye for detail.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office applications, including experience with tools for creating diagrams, illustrations, and documents.

Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, business administration, or technical writing.
  • 2-5 years' experience as a technical writer, particularly in creating content pertaining to policy, procedure, and/or process.
