Summary Description

The P&C Benefits Administrator will provide administration and support of company benefits programs, leaves of absence, Workers' Compensation, wellness programs and ensure high - quality data integrity across various benefit platforms.

How You’ll Contribute

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

  • Planning, designing and implementation of the Mercy Ships’ employee wellness program; providing administrative support, and proposing creative ideas to expand our programs to better benefit the health and wellness of our employee population.
  • Administering employee benefit programs such as insurance, wellness, and retirement.
  • Process and update employee benefit elections for new benefits, qualifying events, and terminating benefits. 
  • Providing timely benefit communications with employees and resolving benefit-related issues.
  • Plan and execute each year of Open Enrollment in coordination with the Sr. Manager, Employee Experience and the Broker team.
  • Design and implement Open Enrollment activities including timeline, employee communications, HMS set-up, and reporting to benefit providers.
  • Organize and submit annual ACA reporting.
  • Manage FMLA and other leave programs including providing timely paperwork, ensuring all disability claims paperwork is completed, and timesheet entry in the system is completed accurately to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Administration of Workers' Compensation, including completing incident reports, claim processing, and reporting
  • Hold a seat and provide active participation in the Mercy Ships Safety Committee recommending needed improvements based on injuries and near misses.
  • Ensure high-quality data integrity in People & Culture systems and records via supervisory and auditing responsibilities, including support for implementation and maintenance of Dayforce. 
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, benefit management, and employment law.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to develop improved, seamless, and integrated HR procedures that are aligned to Mercy Ships overall mission/business practices and objectives.

Education And Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent, is required; bachelor's degree in business management or human resources, preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative field, required; prior experience in a Human Resource function, preferred.
  • Prior Benefit Administration experience is highly preferred. 
  • International HR experience is preferred.
  • HRCI or SHRM certificate, required within three years.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
