Support the ongoing development and function of the medical supplies for the Mercy Ships Health Care System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Manage the maintenance of the medical items within the Supply Chain Management System including but not limited to descriptions, package size, commodity type. 
  • Liaise with and be the main support over programmatic tickets that are not forecast based.
  • Coordinate and track product orders in conjunction with the procurement team.  Address and document any expressed concerns or questions.  Maintain accurate reporting of jira tickets to be reviewed with the procurement team. 
  • Liaise with the Warehouse on order pulls and shipment status.  European Distribution Center (EDC) and International Support Center (ISC). 
  • Pull and provide historical records for assigned vendors or surgical specialties.
  • Communicate regular updates to Medical Planning Manager and Medical demand Planners.
  • Maintain and oversee departmental special order acquisition lists. Coordinate with procurement to fulfill the purchasing of special requests in a timely manner. Schedule shipping of special requests to be received by requestor within desired timeline. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook while willing to learn the procurement database.
  • May include occasional domestic and international travel.

Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.

  • Administrative experience helpful.
  • Medical experience preferred.
  • Experience working with people and organizational systems. International experience a plus.
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
