This is a FULL TIME Hybrid opportunity located in Lindale, Texas.

 

Compensation Range for This Position Is $57,500 - $62,500

 

Mercy Ships is seeking a FPA Associate – Business Partner to provide administrative support to the FP&A team and assigned caseload. This role helps maintain organized financial documentation, coordinates team communications, and assists with financial planning and reporting activities. Working closely with senior team members, the Associate supports efficient team operations while building foundational skills in financial planning and business partnership. Reports to the FP&A Manger.

 

How You’ll Contribute

  • Provide day-to-day support to the FP&A team by responding to helpdesk inquiries, maintaining data accuracy, and coordinating communications through shared mailbox.
  • Manage a limited caseload of business partners under close guidance from senior FP&A team members, learning to interpret financial results and support their financial planning needs.
  • Assist in preparing templates, schedules, and reports for financial planning cycles.
  • Perform data collection, entry, and reconciliations to support monthly close processes, including completion of accounting journal entries as directed.
  • Monitor and maintain organize financial documentation, shared drives and team workspaces to ensure accessibility and version control
  • Support variance and trend analysis by compiling data, performing preliminary checks, and summarizing key findings for review by senior team members.
  • Learn to communicate basic financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and develop an understanding of business drivers within assigned caseload.
  • Contribute to documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement of FP&A processes and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness across financial reporting and planning activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and system enhancements to strengthen technical and business skills.
  • Adhere to organization policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements in all reporting and analysis activities.

  • Basic understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial planning concepts; willingness to learn more advanced topics.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness in tasks, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with team members and supports FP&A initiatives.
  • Organized and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or other related field required; candidates in the final year of completing their degree will be considered.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in financial planning, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in the following tools required: Standard Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to communicate clearly.
