This is a REMOTE role that is required to be within a 2 HOUR commute to Lindale, Texas. There will be occasional events where the role is required to come on site.
**Compensation Range for This Position Is $80,000 - $85,000.
Mercy Ships is seeking a Senior People and Culture Global Business Partner to oversee end-to-end global P&C employment activities for Mercy Ships in various countries, as well as leading international and global P&C projects. The role requires close collaboration with the Managing Director of the Africa Center and leadership teams supporting global and international projects. Key responsibilities include workforce planning, Mercy Ships Team Member relations, global compensation review, and ensuring compliance with local employment laws. The Sr. PC Global BP oversees global recruitment and pay strategy, training, and development of international and in-country teams such as the Country Engagement Team (CET), Evaluation & Tracking Advisor (ETA), Medical Evaluation Liaison & Development (MELD), Information Systems, Marine Operations, and Global Patient Selection Teams. The role ensures alignment of Mercy Ships' policies with local regulatory frameworks while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture across diverse global teams.
How You’ll Contribute
- Lead the P&C Contract Administrator role with oversight of global Mercy Ships Team Member and worker contracts to ensure Mercy Ships Team Members, contractors, and leaders understand agreed upon terms.
- Lead the Sr. P&C Generalist, Africa Service Center role with oversight of P&C-related projects and programming in Africa.
- Provide leadership: mentor and develop junior US and global P&C Staff Members, building a strong P&C pipeline.
- Build, develop, and maintain strong collaborative working relationships across the PCBP's designated functional areas including, Mercy Ship's global national office footprint.
- Manage various employment contracts impacting the global workforce, including third-party vendor relationships.
- Maintain strong relationships with global vendors supporting contract and employment activities.
- Act as a liaison between global Mercy Ships Team Members and management, addressing questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations.
- Develop engagement terms for various talent groups (volunteers, Staff Members, interns, contractors, global teams).
- Lead Staff Member recognition and engagement programs, including service awards and community initiatives.
- Contribute to workforce management (job and compensation analysis, interview guides, job descriptions) and staffing strategies.
- Support P&C leadership with team meetings, communications, and special projects.
- Partner with the Managing Director of the Africa Service Center and other leadership team to coordinate people movements in-country for ship arrival preparation and service.
- Lead training and development of in-country teams (e.g., CET, ETA, MELD, IS, Marine and Global Patient Selection Teams).
- Ensure P&C policies and procedures impacting the global workforce align with local employment laws and Mercy Ships' standards.
- Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to guide business decisions within legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Provide efficient and high-quality P&C services to in-country teams and the International Support Center.
- Respond to changing business conditions, adapting P&C strategies accordingly.
- Partner with National Office to support international hires.
- Provide P&C policy guidance and interpretation to a global workforce.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to in-country global leadership, providing guidance on Mercy Ships Team Member relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Navigate diverse employment laws, ensuring compliance for local and international hires.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) to leaders.
- Improve work relationships, morale, retention, and productivity by working closely with leaders and Mercy Ships Team Members.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with P&C to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manage Mercy Ships Team Member relations, offering counsel and guidance to managers on grievance, disciplinary, and performance issues, and lead investigations when necessary.
- Be visible to Mercy Ships Team Members and managers, answering general questions and expanding the PCBP's presence.
- Conduct exit interviews and report findings/themes quarterly.
- Draft P&C-related documentation.
- Serve as an ambassador for DEI initiatives.
- Maintain alignment and uphold Mercy Ships Core Values, Code of Conduct, and follow the policies and procedures published on Compass.

The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- High aptitude for computer applications, including HRIS and ATS.
- Able to implement and lead P&C projects to completion.
- Demonstrated proficient Excel skills and constructing branded presentations.
- Possess capacity building and training skills.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of six to eight years’ experience with core P&C services oversight (performance management, compensation, Mercy Ships Team Member relations, DE&I as a business strategy, and employment law).
- Two to four years’ experience leading and partnering with globally diverse teams.
- Working knowledge of multiple P&C disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational analysis & diagnosis, employee relations and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Proven experience being the face of P&C, representing policies and practices to managers and Mercy Ships Team Members across the organization.
- Consultative approach and ability to work autonomously.
- SHRM Certified Professional or HRCI credential, preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of experience and education.
