**Compensation for this position is $55,000

This is a full-time, REMOTE position

 

The Technical Sector Recruiter is responsible for proactively sourcing, attracting, and selecting high-quality volunteers for Technical and Maritime roles that ensure ship functionality, navigation, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position supports Mercy Ships in recruiting qualified technical volunteers that ensures a safe and compliant ship.

 

The Recruiter builds and maintains a robust global talent pipeline for critical technical roles while delivering a professional, mission-aligned candidate experience that reflects Mercy Ships’ values and Community of Faith.

 

How You’ll Contribute

  • Proactively source and engage technical and maritime professionals using Boolean search methodology, talent mining, and targeted outreach strategies.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for high-impact and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Identify and recommend new sourcing channels, including niche job boards, professional associations, trade publications, and social media platforms.
  • Utilize sector-specific volunteer personas to align candidate skills with mission requirements.
  • Screen candidates for required certifications, volunteer eligibility, and cultural alignment with Mercy Ships’ Christian values.
  • Conduct structured interviews using standardized scorecards and objective grading criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Partner with Sector Leaders to present qualified candidates and manage the verbal offer process.
  • Collaborate with National Offices to ensure alignment with global staffing strategies.
  • Track and report key performance indicators such as time-to-fill, recruiter effectiveness, and candidate withdrawal trends.
  • Coordinate seamless handover to Onboarding upon offer acceptance

    The Ideal Candidate

  • Supportive of Mercy Ships' mission, vision, core values, and cultural philosophy. · Able to contribute to community life, requiring stable and healthy interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in NGO, humanitarian, or international environments preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working across time zones and diverse cultures
  • A strong customer service orientation, with excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively source and engage passive candidates.
  • Intermediate Analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment metrics and dashboards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in staffing or volunteer management, specialized recruiting and sourcing experience.
  • Experience in NGO, humanitarian, or maritime recruitment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Applicant Tracking Systems, Greenhouse Preferred
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year
