Project Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Use best practice methodologies to initiate and lead project planning activities from project initiation to project closure for multiple concurrent IS projects
- Produce, manage and maintain project documentation including initiation documentation, plans, business cases, project records and logs
- Create and execute project work plans for cross-functional project teams and revise plans as appropriate to meet the project needs and requirements
- Manage the effective execution of the project work and ensure that the work generates desired deliverables on time, within budget and at required quality levels
- Manage people and other resources indirectly as part of the cross-functional project team
- Ensure communication is maintained between all internal and external project stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle
- Monitor and report on project risks and issues, project progress, and project quality
- Manage the change processes within each project
- Capture lessons learned throughout the project life-cycle to improve the project management processes used by IS
- Collaborate with the other IS department managers where their specific functional and operational responsibilities contribute to project goals
- Carry out department employee management responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies which include: planning, assigning, training and directing work; appraising performance and reviewing compensation; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Responsible for the preparation and administration of project budgets and planning of the program of work for assigned projects
- Provide exceptional customer service to all partners, applying Mercy Ships core values as the cornerstone of all actions and communication.
- Act as a team player, using principles from Crucial Conversations to ensure strong and open working relationships.
- Protect information assets controlled within the IS systems, applications or infrastructure, as defined in Mercy Ships policies and procedures.
