Staff Accountant AP 
Summary:  Under general direction, this position is responsible for the maintaining all aspects of accounts payable. This includes maintaining vendor relationships, invoice entry and payments.  This position is also accountable for the timely preparation of monthly journal entries and research/resolution of vendor discrepancies. Investigates inconsistencies in data and procedures, ensures accuracy, and makes recommendations for changes in systems and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Administers Accounts Payable (AP) process
  • Prepare and input journal entries (monthly, adjusting, and recurring)
  • Analyze information and options by developing reports; verifying information
  • Prepare audit work papers for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in invoice entries, Certify entries and other journal entries as needed
  • Prepare and issue 1099s at year end
  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assist with special projects as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
