The Donor Data Specialist facilitates relationships with donors by providing research and data analytics/reports to Marketing and Resource Development leaders to review. Manages the donor database to update mail preferences, contact information, contact notes/records, and data integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Work with all relevant parties and departments who have donor touch-points to ensure compliance and data integrity to meet the DX plan
  • Respond to questions and comments from constituents in a timely manner
  • Review and maintain donor data to meet clean data hygiene standards
  • Update the donor database by entering new information gathered from external sources which include giving capacity , interests, relationships, and motivation data. (The database remains the property of Mercy Ships)
  • An understanding of the Mercy Ships health care delivery system including the model, the message, the methods, and the metrics, by which its mission is accomplished
  • Report data and donor information to all levels of leadership
  • Assist the Senior Cultivation Data Coordinator in tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment preferred
  • Strong Excel and Word working knowledge
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
