This is a FULL-TIME ON-SITE opportunity located in Lindale, Texas.

 

**Compensation Range for This Position Is $17 - $18.75/HR.

 

As a Donor Communications Assistant, you are responsible for contacting first time donors, major gift donors, and increasing relationships with established donors through calls, emails, and letters.

 

This position REQUIRES fluency in both English and Spanish.

 

How You’ll Contribute

  • Responsible for the personalized contact of all first-time donors, major donors, and others.
  • Research donor records, contacts, history, and gift information to establish profile before contact.
  • Continually update the database on the assigned caseload by entering new information gathered from interactions and other public sources. Include giving capacity, interests, relationships, and motivation data germane to establishing a growing relationship. The database remains the property of Mercy Ships.
  • Complete contact reports after each donor interaction and post information in the main database.
  • Set and pursue personal, spiritual, and professional growth and education objectives, and manage time to meet those objectives.
  • An understanding of and ability to work with paid staff and volunteers at all levels within the development and governance structure of Mercy Ships.
  • An ability to command respect from first impressions. The ability to sustain that respect and gain the confidence of others in a first impression setting.
  • An understanding of the Mercy Ships health care delivery system including the model, the message, the methods, and the metrics, by which its mission is accomplished.
  • Support of the organization's mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, respect personalization, commitment to our community, and accountability and ownership.
  • Monitor Voicemail inbox for deletes.
  • Sort/enter deletes.
  • Prepare BRE refund for Post Office.
  • Attend DRTV Calibration calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English are required.
  • Experience with international missions is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of the Internet, email, phone and high-speed internet, and an understanding of contact management software.
  • Motivated, self-starter with a desire to achieve personal and organizational goals.
  • Ability to work alone without close supervision.
  • Supportive of Mercy Ships mission and vision, and committed to its core values.
  • Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrate accountability.

Education & Experience

  • Two to four years previous office experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Communication or related field is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
