GLM Project Supply & Logistics Manager
Summary:  Responsible for coordinating the planning, purchase, container stuffing, shipping and loading onto the Global Mercy (GLM) all buyer supplied general and medical stores and equipment. They will report to the Global Mercy Project Manager but will have a dotted reporting line to the International Supply Operations Director based at the International Support Center (ISC) Texas, working in coordination and partnership with Procurement Managers at the European Distribution Center (EDC) and ISC to ensure continuity and maximum efficiency of all supply chain processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Manage the shipment of all buyer delivered equipment to shipyard, managing labeling, packing and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Procurement Manager the purchase of products from chandlers in China, ensuring the process is coordinated between GLM Project team  and International Supply Operations,
  • Manage all paperwork with shipyard insuring smooth delivery through customs.
  • Coordinate shipping and delivery of containers to Equipping port with Project team, International Supply Operations and GLM Operations Director.
  • Coordinate with Demand Planning Manager, Purchase Manager, load plan team, insuring all Equipping items are accounted for.
  • Oversee the unload plan of all containers onto the GLM during the Equipping phase in Subic Bay.
  • Coordinate shipping and delivery of containers to Transition port with Project team, International Supply Operations and GLM Operations Director.
  • Coordinate with Demand Planning Manager, Purchase Manager insuring all items for Transition are accounted for.
  • Coordinate and oversee Transition Phase, and movement of AFM inventory over to the GLM in the Canary Islands.
  • Assist GLM department heads in defining their operational supply needs.
  • Become GLM subject matter expert on the ships Inventory Management Software System (ARISE) ensuring it is populated with accurate data.
  • Ensure all supply chain standardized product lists, policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Work with GLM Project Team, Africa Mercy Supply Manager and International Supply Operations Director to design and implement GLM Standard.
  • Operating Procedures for inventory management, stock rotation and re-supply in line with fleet supply chain best practices.
  • Develop documented training for Hospital and General Stores teams in partnership with Africa Mercy Supply Manager, GLM Operations Director& Staff Development.
  • Due to the ever changing staffing levels and field service rotations, all staff may be re-assigned to temporarily fill roles in other departments in a time of need, 
  • Other duties as assigned.
