Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Thank mid-level donors for all gifts via phone, email or written contact.
  • Must be able to listen attentively and discern needs in donors’ voice and cues to receptiveness to personal relationships.
  • Must be very comfortable and willing to pray with donors’ as the need arises.
  • Assist in development of special stewardship or recognition efforts to thank donors throughout the year.
  • Interact with mid-level donors in ways that cultivate and bond them with Mercy Ships.
  • Record donor stewardship in Donor Perfect to accurately reflect all activities and touchpoints with donors in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness and expertise on US fundraising trends and best practices to retain donors.
  • Represent Mercy Ships by living out our core values through professional interactions with donors, volunteers, and staff.
  • Assist Donor Relationship Manager in special projects assignments as needed.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements)

  • Demonstrated ability to focus on excellent customer service. Requires self-motivated person with utmost integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate positively and effectively with a wide range of demographic audiences.
  • Proficient in Windows programs not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) systems preferred but not required.
