Director of Talent Acquisition and Engagement
Summary:  Responsible for developing and implementing Mercy Ships' Global Recruitment Strategy. This includes forecasting needs, as well as designing and overseeing execution of proactive short and long-term strategies to source the organization’s volunteer and staff positions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Manage and develop the Recruiting department, setting sourcing and recruitment marketing goals, directing work, and preparing budgets.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the annual Manpower Strategic Market Plan (SMP) for the US. Consolidate and evaluate National Office Manpower SMPs to assess the global picture.
  • Work closely with Global Brand and Marketing to create and maintain a sustainable and effective digital presence on social media.
  • Provide strategy and direction for Talent Brand Manager in creating and maintaining an effective alumni engagement program.
  • Develop, track, and report on qualitative and quantifiable metrics that are indicative of program efficiency and effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Systems Administrator and Information Services to ensure the talent acquisition tech stack meets of demands of the organization.
  • Support national office markets in recruiting efforts. Attend events and visit key locations, as needed, to maintain and develop key relationships.
  • Hire and develop direct reports, conduct performance appraisals, and review/update position descriptions.
  • Provide design input for the Introduction to Mercy Ships (IMS) programs.
  • Explore and maintain current knowledge of industry best practices and implement as appropriate in the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

    The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • 3-5 years relevant industry experience as a professional recruiter.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Human Resources, or other relevant education.
  • Prior Mercy Ships or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
