- Contribute to development of relationship-driven, integrated departmental fundraising strategy
- Lead execution of the strategy in key areas to substantially grow, diversify and sustain Mercy Ships operational financial resources
- Identify and steward high value relationships resulting increased funding and support
- Develop and manage a budget, implementation plan and meet existing fundraising expectations
- Prepare regular reports on progress, budgets, and expenditure
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements)

- Strategic planning experience in complex organizational settings
- In-depth knowledge of fundraising management systems, major gift cultivation and stewardship
- Experience successfully broadening and deepening corporate, grant and philanthropic fundraising streams
- Proven track record of achieving fund development goals and securing six figure major gifts and up
- Mature approach and high emotional intelligence, able to build strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and negotiate successful outcomes
- Solid understanding of economic and giving trends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Software Proficiency: Adept at Microsoft Office products, and experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/Development databases
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset
