Graphic Designer
Summary:  The Graphic Designer works directly with Global Brand Leadership, team stakeholders, and peer departments to develop brand driven creative that meets the goals and expectations of Mercy Ships initiatives.
This role is responsible for the execution of engaging print and digital design for brand campaigns including, but not limited to, banner ads, emails, landing pages, social media ads, presentations, and publications. These designs should enrich and enhance both brand image and user experience to targeted audiences for our internal and external communication channels.
This role requires strong conceptual design ability and an eye for detail accompanied by expert knowledge of digital media and print applications, strong project management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize various projects with overlapping deadlines. In addition, the Graphic Designer should demonstrate a collaborative spirit and ability to engage with people in a cross cultural environment.
Performance is reviewed periodically for personal growth, efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Collaborates on project scope and requirements within the Global Brand team to execute campaign or project deliverables with brand consistency throughout project implementation
  • Develop visual concepts that meet the expectations defined by the project scope that translate to various forms of media including social channels, digital graphics, presentation and reporting documents
  • Performs to project timeline requirements and provides consistent progress updates to Global Brand project leads
  • Knowledge of industry standard software and production requirements for a wide range of media
  • Proactively stays in tune with changing technology and industry trends
  • Proofreads provided content and own work to produce accurate and high-quality projects
    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements)

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud with an expert level in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects a plus
  • A working knowledge of HTML and Adobe Dreamweaver a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of production standards and requirements for various digital assets including social media channels, email, landing pages and web graphics
  • Knowledge of graphic standards and pre-press requirements for print
  • Excellent communication, analytical, listening and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative and team oriented with strong interpersonal skills and ability to positively
    engage with individuals in a cross-cultural environment
  • Strong project management skills and sense of urgency

Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design,
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience executing and maintaining graphic design principles in a verity of mediums including brand development and concept strategy in a branding or marketing related field.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
