Assist in the planning and implementation of maritime training for Mercy Ships staff and crew.
Description:  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Prepares and facilitates safety training courses for crew and staff.
  • Supports the operation, administration, and continuing improvement of the Quality Management System.
  • Processes and responds to training requests.
  • Develop good customer relationships and address customer service needs.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and other operational functions.
  • Teaches maritime training courses.
  • Coordinates training courses, including classroom preparations.
  • Manage data in spreadsheets, keep records and prepares reports
  • Remain current with maritime industry training trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adult teaching skills; ability to present to a multi-cultural audience
  • Customer relationship management skills.
  • Budgeting, bookkeeping and planning skills; knowledge of associated computer software
  • Quality assurance skills to maintain quality standards of product and services
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally

    Education and Experience

    The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • At least one year experience as deck or engineering officer on vessels of at least 200 GRT/500 GT; or more advanced maritime license; or equivalent experience
  • Associates (two year college) degree; bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the
