Summary:  Summary Description

The Manager of Corporate Partners is responsible for managing a portfolio of high profile legacy partners in addition to new partnerships through cultivation, stewardship, and a holistic partner-centric approach to secure revenue streams and maximize networks.  This position provides overall account management direction and ensures planning, execution, recognition, and growth are at the forefront of donor engagement activities. The Manager will serve in a strategic account maintenance role, ensuring revenue and GIK targets are met and partners are retained and positioned for long term commitment and growth for the organization.

The Manager works in a team setting reporting to the Director of new business development, and in collaboration and alignment with the Director of Grants and Corporate funding, the GIK account management team to achieve revenue goals. This position will also be delivering on value to internal stakeholders in a collaborative environment within the context of 16 global offices, based on pre-identified corporate partnership initiatives and framework. This role functions as primarily an individual contributor with a wide span of influence and opportunity for impact.

Based on divisional strategic priorities, manages corporate and industry relationships with clearly defined revenue and/or GIK targets.
Supports the new business development plans through management of newly secured accounts and relationships.  This role will require strong project management and organizational skills, sales and marketing experience, and the creativity and drive to build innovative philanthropic relationships through external partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Work closely with the Senior Director and Director of New Business Development to ensure the portfolio of partners is positioned for growth and scalability through networks and industries. Identify and participate in key future signature events and initiatives that will elevate and leverage Corporate partners.
  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with internal business units including marketing, global brand, finance, IS, and procurement.
  • Key function is assessing, monitoring and evaluating current and emerging partnerships’ progress in relation to goals and creating strategic account plans that drive to mutually beneficial relationships based on the department strategic plan.
  • Build and adapt customized partner account plans, with the ability to shift and streamline as needed to ensure deliverables and metrics are achieved.
  • Manage the vetting process and ensure accountability and accuracy while staying partner centric. Develop, manage and update Memorandums of Understanding and/or master agreements in conjunction with Legal department and with supervisors.
  • Maintain and develop industry relationships to benefit Mercy Ship’s philanthropic and corporate network, especially business development.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times.
  • Adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Identify strategies to enhance current partner plans and build new opportunities with prospects that can serve as new Corporate partners.
  • Develop and recommend enhancements to suite of assets and materials including PPT presentations, campaign strategy and direction, briefing documents, reports and key messaging for senior executives and volunteer leaders, in addition to partner toolkits. Participate in web site and digital strategy meetings with an eye for Corporate and CSR engagement.
  • Responsible for exceptional project management in maintaining timelines, action plans for assigned portfolio. Ability to work through complex relationships and bring clarity to the partnership.
  • Manage tracking, dashboards, data and donor management plans, evaluation, forecasting and ROI reports for internal department workflow and external facing partnerships.
