Summary:  Under general direction, this position is responsible for the maintenance of assigned general ledger accounts and is accountable for the timely preparation of monthly journal entries and the reconciliation of the accounts and related schedules. Investigates inconsistencies in data and procedures, ensures accuracy, and makes recommendations for changes in systems and processes.

Under general direction, this position is responsible for the maintenance of assigned general ledger accounts and is accountable for the timely preparation of monthly journal entries and the reconciliation of the accounts and related schedules. Investigates inconsistencies in data and procedures, ensures accuracy, and makes recommendations for changes in systems and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Execute the Contributions and Accounts Receivable processes working closely with Donor Services to book and reconcile daily contributions.
  • Assist with timely completion of month-end processes.
  • Prepare and input journal entries (monthly, adjusting, and recurring).
  • Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts.
  • Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information
  • Assist in preparing Financial Statements and other reports.
  • Prepare audit work papers for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assist with special projects as requested. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
