The ISC HR Manager serves to identify and drive talent acquisition and retention initiatives while supporting the HR function with key responsibilities in maintaining compliance and best practices adherence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Working with Staff Recruiter to develop and implement an effective full cycle recruitment processes including the implementation of recruitment metrics, supporting talent acquisition strategies, and building new talent pools
  • In collaboration with internal branding team contribute to the marketing strategies to attract passive and active candidates, as well as to increase local awareness of Mercy Ships
  • Contributor to workforce management activities such as job analysis, development of interview guides, job descriptions; and providing recommendations for effective staffing strategies
  • Leave administration manager ensuring compliance to state and federal laws, including FMLA administration, parental leave and personal leave
  • Responsible for the prompt, accurate, and compliant processing of compliance related obligations such as EEO-1 and OSHA 300 filings
  • Oversee exit interview process, analyzing results, suggesting changes to ISC HR Director
  • Lead contributor in staff recognition and engagement programs including service awards, community gathering presentations, and community strengthening initiatives
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to ensure updates to staff handbook and HR policies on intranet
  • Continually strive to improve processes in order to provide an excellent staff experience
  • Maintain ISC HR pages and communication on intranet
  • In collaboration with HR Director, develop, improve and lead facilitation of HR orientation for new managers
  • Other duties as assigned
