IS Product Manager

The IS Product Manager will be responsible for the ongoing operations and innovation of one or more of Mercy Ships' core technology products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
Core

o Support the Senior Product Manager with product knowledge, business empathy, agile practices, and technical expertise.
o Orchestrate the use of and expertise in respective product(s) throughout Mercy Ships.
o Identify use cases and champion the innovative use of product(s) across Mercy Ships, advancing Mercy Ships’ desired enterprise architecture.
o Maintain enterprise and/or core product roadmaps, that feed into the overarching value stream roadmap.
o Assign changes and ensure the consistent application of release management processes.
o Collaborate with project management functions in the planning and execution of projects.
o Write any required policies and processes applicable to respective products.
o Provide status reports as requested.
o Escalate issues and risks to senior leadership and business stakeholders as necessary.
Management
o Lead a squad to effectively maintain and enhance the products under their purview, ensuring alignment with the direction of the larger value stream.
o Ensure the squad’s backlog prioritizes business value: advancing strategic initiatives, delivering on projects and enhancements, and ensuring timely maintenance.
o Plan sprints coordinating the work of staff and contracted resources.
o Work with project management functions and resource managers in the assignment of resources for individual projects, both internal and external.
Leadership
o Use servant leadership and strong inter-personal skills to motivate and develop an effective, creative, and collegial team.
o Provide exceptional customer service to all partners, applying Mercy Ships core values as the cornerstone of all actions and communication.
o Proactively lead and invest in the development of any assigned team members.
o Act as a team player, using principles from Crucial Conversations to ensure strong and open working relationships.
o Protect information assets controlled within the IS systems, applications or infrastructure, as defined in Mercy Ships policies and procedures.
Performance
o Regularly search for and identify opportunities for delivering high customer satisfaction.
o Demonstrate year-over-year quality and process improvements, resulting in improved efficiency, increased productivity and/or cost reduction opportunities.
