Summary: As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you are responsible for finding and identifying the best talent to join the bold mission of Mercy Ships. You are an advocate for the candidate, a consultant to hiring teams and a champion of our mission and values. In partnership with hiring teams, you will design and implement innovative recruitment strategies, host hiring events, and actively source passive talent to ensure we are fully staffed. Some key priorities for this role are ATS administration, job board postings, initial screenings, talent acquisition strategy implementation, and building a talent pool through proactive outreaches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Partner and build rapport with internal stakeholders to understand the hiring needs and alignment with organizational mission and translate information into effective hiring strategies.
  •  Ensure a high-touch, positive candidate experience and develop the ability to brief candidates on organizational mission while also presenting a solid value proposition for opportunities.
  •  Build a pipeline of talent through strategic sourcing via LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.
  •  Facilitate/organize group and 1:1 trainings as needed with hiring teams (i.e. interview training, LinkedIn education).
  •   Identify, develop and implement effective full-cycle recruitment processes including recruitment metrics, talent acquisition strategies, and building new talent pools.
  • Collaborate with internal branding team and contribute to the marketing strategies to attract passive and active candidates, as well as to increase local awareness of Mercy Ships and optimizing employer branding.
  • Develop an extensive network of potential candidates as an organized talent pool from alumni, past candidates, and those who have expressed interest via the Career Opportunities page.
  • Coordinate and implement seed-planting initiatives through college career centers, churches, academic departments and student groups.
  • Research advertising venues; developing effective ads and job postings; placing approved advertisements accordingly and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Promote key roles, as appropriate, across the United States, through professional associations, university events, job fairs, conferences, etc.
