Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

Policy Development:

  • Demonstrates the ability to research evidence needed to support policy development
  • Understands how to use medical evidence databases to conduct literature searches (e.g., PubMed, Medline, Embase)
  • Understands and demonstrates the ability to find reliable sources of information to support the policy with scientifically backed research.
  • Demonstrates the ability to present policy evidence in a concise and understandable way.
  • Regularly monitors relevant international organizations for policy and guidance updates.

Policy Implementation:

  • Responsible for communicating new policy implementation needs to the ICMO and others who will be the final approvers in policy implementation
  • Ability to clarify ambiguity regarding policy implementation
  • Supports the development of procedures to support policy implementation

Administrative support to the ICMO:

  • Organizing e-mail accounts
  • Calendar management
  • Draft email replies
  • Support drafting of blog posts to the Mercy Ships Global Community
  • Writing minutes for standing meetings 
  • Responsible for the document management of Global Medical Services
  • Other duties as assigned
