**Compensation Range for This Position Is $88,000 - $93,000
Mercy Ships is seeking a Corporate Development Manager to serve remotely. In this position you'll have the opportunity to support the Corporate Global Partnerships Department initiatives of Mercy Ships to ensure continued delivery of hope to those in need through development and nurturing of relationships with new corporate partners.
How You’ll Contribute
- Research and identify companies to amplify Mercy Ships funding through corporate partnerships. Build upon existing internal processes to grow the prospect pipeline.
- With direction and guidance from the Director of Development, create a plan for the reactivation of lapsed partners. All activities will drive toward revenue goals in support of the department's strategic direction.
- Work closely with the Corporate Engagement Manager to provide a white-glove hand-off of new accounts. The Corporate Engagement Manager will be responsible for account management, stewardship, and growth.
- Ensure all Mercy Ships support departments are aligned to reach the organization's GIK goals based on best operational excellence practices. Internal teams include procurement, IS, finance, marine operations, and programs.
- Manage and streamline workflow for the acquirement of new partnerships.
- Manage calendars of meetings, events, timelines, and process improvements related to operationalizing the relationship, including tracking and reporting.
- Lead plans in partnership with internal stakeholders in refining the vetting process for research, identification, and selection of any new partners in alignment with Mercy Ships GIK and cash goals, as well as with Mercy Ships Mission & Vision.
- Submit necessary business travel plans to the Director of Development for approval each quarter, in line with the approved departmental budget.
- Manage a reporting plan to include key metrics and timely information for each relationship's financial and overall partnership goals, forecast new revenue for coming quarters, track goals, and provide updates to the Director and Executive Director.
- Secure, elevate, and transform new partnerships to help fulfill partner CSR goals by pursuing employee engagement campaigns, cash contributions, and cause marketing. Collaborate with global brand and marketing as strategy partners.
- Coordinate all GIK plans and processes with department team members based in the international offices to ensure alignment with international relationships and our global partner footprint. Work closely with the Director of Development on global strategy initiatives.
- Organize and manage appropriate legal and compliance documentation in partnership with Legal and Risk management/Finance: agreements, MOU, and contracts.

- An understanding of the special purpose, mission, and values of Mercy Ships, including the model, the message, the methods, and the metrics, by which its mission is accomplished.
- Due to the highly confidential nature of this job, it is critical that this person be trustworthy and able to maintain the strictest confidence regarding our donors' personal and financial information.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, communication, sales, and negotiation skills are essential.
- An understanding of and ability to work with paid staff and volunteers at all levels within the procurement, development, and governance structure of Mercy Ships.
- An ability to build and ever-deepen relationships with donors, colleagues, staff, subordinates, and volunteers.
- Experience and ability to deliver high-quality and exceptional presentations to external stakeholders in a corporate industry environment and various forums. Able to make effective small and large group presentations.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines yet be flexible enough to cope with diversity and complexity and juggle several projects simultaneously.
- A high level of tact and diplomacy is required to work well with donors, trustees, volunteers, and staff at all levels, from C-Suite partners to front-line teams.
- Ability to foster teamwork, work cooperatively with others to set goals, and problem-solve constructively.
- Ability to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals, create and implement action plans, and evaluate the process and results.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations, marketing, communications, or other related area required.
- 5-8 years of increasingly productive development or sales-related experience.
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector, social sector, or corporate background, and managing sensitive and confidential information.
- Management experience required, overseeing people, processes, or corporate partnerships.
- Management experience in budget and revenue planning, and overseeing fiscal procedures and practices, along with financial acumen for tracking metrics and revenue, is desired.
- Experience with Gift-in-Kind (GIK) and cash relationships, operational planning, process improvement, or project management, is highly valued for this role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an ability to manage technology platforms and donor management systems is required.
- Travel required 20 percent + for partner meetings and events based on organizational guidelines for safe travel.
- International travel is required based on organizational needs and guidelines.
- Experience with international missions and/or medical background is highly desirable.
- Experience with Point-of-Sale marketing strategies and technologies strongly preferred.
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
