Description:  

Works under the leadership of the Senior Director and in alignment with the Director of New Business Development to build a long-term strategy for corporate partnership retention and growth of current partners and new partner acquisition. Portfolio will have an emphasis on Gift in Kind partners and legacy relationships with a strategic component of CSR growth enhancements to grow these partners. This position will take a lead role on pre-identified projects based on new strategic plan initiatives.

  • Responsible for coordinating and driving internal stakeholders to achieve the GIK organizational goals. Manage internal elements via reducing operational spend by engaging current and new corporate partners, maintaining, strengthening and developing vendor relationships leading to higher discounts and increased gift in kind (GIK) opportunities. Coordinates work with department team member stationed in national office.
  • Builds partner centric corporate engagement strategies working closely with Sr. Director and Director of new Business Development engagement campaigns, co-branding and marketing opportunities and volunteer opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

    • With direction and guidance from Director of New Business Development, create a plan for retention, reactivation and growth in the area of Corporate Partnerships and stewardship, with a primary function of management of the GIK portfolio of companies. All activities will drive toward revenue and/or GIK goals in support the strategic direction of the department and division of Resource Development.
    • Build and drive new internal processes in tandem with a new Corporate Partner relationship management workplan to ensure all support departments are aligned to reach the GIK goals for the organization based on best practices in operational excellence. Workflow will include procurement team, IS dept., finance and Fund Management as the core group. This position will serve as a lead team member with the guidance from Director of New Business Development and Senior Director. 
    • Manage and  streamline workflow with the International Procurement team to ensure administrative activities are delegated appropriately and strategic activities are co-owned. This includes engagement of key vendors that are being focused on via RFI or RFP in support of Mercy Ships cost reduction strategy, managing calendar of meetings/events and timelines, and process improvements related to operationalizing the relationship including tracking and reporting.
    • Lead plans in partnership with Procurement and work group in refining the vetting process for research, identification and selection of any new vendor relationship linked to GIK goals, aligning with Mercy Ships Mission & Vision.
    • Submit necessary business travel plans to the Director of New Business Development for approval each quarter, in line with approved departmental budget.
