Description:  

The Director, Human Resources Data & Systems oversees the administration of HR systems, data, reporting, and analytics. Leads the digitization of human resources functions and processes to include the evolution of existing systems and reporting capabilities. Ensures HR systems meet organizational needs and provide an ideal user experience. Assesses, recommends, and implements HR technologies and solutions that create efficiencies, provide meaningful analytics, and enable effective decision making. Manages, coaches and develops the HR systems, reporting, and analytics teams to expand their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Accountable for HR system data integrity.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  •  Oversees the day-to-day adoption, integration, and operation of all HR systems including the Human Capital Management System, Learning Management System, file storage, and other supporting technologies in the HR department.
  • Responsible for developing a strategic direction for the HR department’s data, insights, and technology products.
  • Applies human resources system administration leading practices to contribute to the immediate and long-term goals of the organization.
  • Serves as a strategic thought partner to HR and departmental leaders across the organization on how to better achieve strategic priorities or address areas of opportunity using HR systems and reporting.
  • Partners with HR, IS, and other functional leaders to identify and implement opportunities for automation and technology optimization through system enhancements that reduce manual effort and streamline processes.
  • Utilizes strategic thinking and cross-functional knowledge to define system architecture and functionality to achieve process efficiencies and effectiveness for end users. Develops governance, policies, and procedures related to data, insights, and technology products.
  • Effectively communicates and reports out on complex, technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Evaluates and effectively manages relationships with HR technology vendors.
  • Continuously upgrades knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of organizational priorities and technology, regulation, or policy changes.

  • Extensive knowledge of human capital management systems including administration, hiring, performance management, learning management, compliance, payroll, and total rewards functions.
  • Knowledge of broad-based HR best practices related to systems, project management, reporting, analytics, total rewards, payroll, compliance, and/or performance management functions.
  • Knowledge of global, federal, and local laws which govern employment policies and practices.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, influence decision makers, and set and manage expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities with grace and efficiency.

Education And Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years’ experience implementing, managing, and improving Human Resources technology roadmaps, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • At least 3 years’ management experience.
  • Broad understanding of all HR disciplines including benefits, compensation, payroll, talent planning, talent acquisition, talent development, and talent management.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
