International PR Manager

PR specialist, who can advise on international PR strategy, and build new and existing relationships with National Offices and global press. Experienced in both traditional and digital PR.

Works with both National Offices and in-country partners to identify and maximize press engagement and attraction opportunities.

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Strategic creation and sharing of general news stories

  • Draft press releases, briefings, talking points, and other written content.

  • Utilize tools for research to help inform media placement decisions.

  • Creation of EPKs (Electronic Press Kit) for National Offices to use as a base (in the same was as annual report)

  • Creation of EPKs for corporates.

  • Relationship manager for the international corporate team for press relations, working closely with Global Branding Communications Director

  • Manage risk to protect key corporate, donor, and influencer relationships and Mercy Ships’ reputation

  • Working with the International Earned Media Manager in chasing, seizing and maximizing PR opportunities in mainstream and social media, on digital platforms, through events and fundraising activities.

  • Identify and develop opportunities to further brand recognition.

  • To have oversight of all advertorials and PSAs so that we have a better response globally when advertorial opportunities arise (recent egs in last 2 months are Euronews, and also Cruise Times).

  • SEO trained.

  • Complete monthly reporting and analysis for nations.

  • Assist with the development of effective campaign rolls outs that encompass both owned and earned channels strategically, maximizing attention and engagement.

  • Actively seek opportunities to submit Mercy Ships personnel or campaigns for competitions – to greater increase brand recognition

  • Experienced at using PR measuring tools, and producing insightful and attractive reports.

  • Be on the lookout for the way the Mercy Ships brand appears in the press in the defined region and alert Global Brand Director as needed. Keep an eye on the continuity of Mercy Ships messaging throughout all media avenues

  • Aid in the promotion and profile development of Mercy Ships through facilitating, writing, and editing promotional pieces.

  • Collaborate with national offices around the world.

  • Coordinate planning and messaging with social media teams to ensure consistency.

  • Encourage the use of the brand book and any editorial guidelines by National office

  • Other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 7 years experience in media relations in a corporate setting
  • International and national media pitching experience
  • Experience with using industry tools to build media lists, reporting, and pitching
  • Experience using social media platforms as a media relations tool
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suit
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
