This is a 12-month Limited Term REMOTE opportunity
**Compensation Range for This Position Is $67,000 - $72,000 depending on experience.
The PC Business Partner (PCBP) position is responsible for aligning organizational objectives with talent groups and management in designated functional areas. The position formulates partnerships across the HR capabilities to deliver value-added service to management and talent groups that reflects the objectives, mission, and core values of the organization. The PCBP maintains an effective level of knowledge about the operations of the organization to connect the HR solution to deliver a best-in-class talent management program.
How You’ll Contribute
- Build, develop, and maintain strong collaborative, consultative working relationships across the PCBP’s designated functional area.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, maintain retention goals, and increase productivity.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manage employee relations issues by providing counsel and guidance to managers on grievance, disciplinary, and performance issues; lead investigations when necessary.
- Expand the PCBP presence and impact, be visible to employees and managers across the business; answer general employee and manager questions on a day-to-day basis.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Conduct exit interviews and report on findings/themes on a quarterly basis.
- Draft HR-related documentation.
- Serve as ambassador for all DEI initiatives.
- Develops engagement terms for talent groups (volunteers, staff, interns, contractors, and global seconded team members).
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Lead contributor in staff recognition and engagement programs including service awards, community gathering presentations, and community-strengthening initiatives.
- Leave administration.
- Contributor to workforce management activities such as job analysis, development of interview guides,job descriptions; and providing recommendations for effective staffing strategies.
- Contributor to the HR leadership team in leading team meetings, writing HR communications, and special projects.
- Co-lead monthly HR/manager meetings.
- First-level workforce demand planning and administration.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- High aptitude for computer applications, including HRIS and ATS.
- Able to implement and lead HR projects to completion.
- Demonstrated proficient Excel skills and constructing branded presentations.
- Possess capacity building and training skills.
- Enjoy working with people and possess strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Education & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of core HR services (performance management, compensation, employee relations, DE&I as a business strategy, and employment law).
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Proven experience being the face of HR, representing policies and practices to managers and employees across the organization.
- Consultative approach and ability to work autonomously.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- SHRM Certified Professional or HRCI credential, preferred.
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
