**Compensation Range for This Position Is $83,000 - $93,000

Mercy Ships is seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist to serve Remotely. In this position you'll have the opportunity to support the Strategic Planning & Implementation Department initiatives of Mercy Ships to ensure continued delivery of hope to those in need through oversight and direction of all facility operations at the International Support Center (ISC).

How You’ll Contribute

  • Support the Development and execution of Continuous Improvement projects following the DMAIC framework using various levels of time constraints.
  • Engage with the leadership stakeholders that may have many internal and external dependencies, complex scope, higher levels of risk and involve cross-functional highly matrixed areas
  • Apply the appropriate tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to complex business processes and implement solutions which provide positive performance and financial impact. KAIZEN, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping
  • Provide leadership to be proactive in anticipating, assessing, and addressing the needs of the organization and down-stream partners
  • Provide guidance for Continuous Improvement projects across all areas of the business; carefully monitoring inter and intra departmental dependencies.
  • Implement a consistent, error-free operating model throughout the company. Create a framework to implement best practices
  • Educate leaders and subject matter experts at all levels on Lean manufacturing/ Six Sigma principles and philosophies.
  • International/Domestic travel required (10% or less).

  • Expert in using a range of CI tools including but not limited to DMAIC framework, KAIZEN, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, etc.

  • Strong leadership presence with solution and improvement-oriented approach to areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrates proven aptitude for learning and using computer-based business applications, analyzing data, to ensure business systems are efficient and effective
  • Shows excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Exhibits highly effective English communication, written & verbal, and is comfortable addressing individuals and groups

 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance, with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma. Black Belt certification is required.
  • Significant Lean / Six Sigma experience and knowledge of the associated analytics
  • Strong experience developing and implementing continuous improvement programs.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and entrepreneurial, demonstrating willingness for learning and improvement.
  • Well-developed quantitative and qualitative analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Presentation/Facilitation skills strongly preferred.
  • Skilled with the use of Microsoft and other business software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, and process mapping/modeling software.
